A Train More Play Less Organization

Joe Francisco

Joe Francisco was born and raised in Westminster, CA. Playing baseball was a hobby during his PONY and Little League years, but his hobby turned into his motivation to become a dynamic shortstop during his time at Bolsa Grande HS in Garden Grove, CA. While playing at BGHS, Francisco’s accomplishments included being a 3-time 1st Team All Garden Grove League player and earning 2nd Team All CIF his senior year. Francisco was named to the Kiwanis Orange County North v. South High School All-Star Game where he represented the North Team coached by Canyon High School’s Coach Najera.

After high school, Francisco played 2 years at Golden West CC under Coach Villareal. During his time at Golden West, Joe was mainly utilized as a middle infielder playing both 2nd Base and Shortstop. It was there when he began to see the infield as his specialty learning the fundamentals, footwork, positioning, as well as game situations to progress his playing ability to the next level.

His hard work and play earned him a full scholarship to Cal State Dominguez Hills. Primarily used as a Shortstop, Francisco played 2 seasons under Coach Wing, earning All CCAA 2nd Team recognition both years. Francisco graduated from CSUDH with a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biology. He continued to pursue his baseball passion after college playing 3 seasons of Independent League Baseball.

Francisco has stayed involved with baseball by coaching his two boys beginning from T-Ball to present day. By passing on the knowledge and experience to his boys and to their teammates, his teams have reached the 6U PONY Shetland World Series in Simi Valley, CA, 8U PONY Pinto Super Regions in Moreno Valley, and 9U Mustang CLBC Championships in Hesperia. Francisco’s coaching philosophy firmly emphasizes fundamentals, development, and progression for the next level of competition.
